Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Cinder, then Cancel Subscription. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
I paid before, but Cinder is asking me to subscribe again.
Use Restore Purchases in the app. This happens after reinstalling, or on a new device. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
My data is not syncing between devices.
Check three things, in order: both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account; iCloud is turned on in Settings under your Apple Account; and iCloud sync is turned on in Cinder itself. Syncing is not instantaneous. If it still does not work, write in and say what you have already checked.
Where is my data stored? Can you see it?
On your device, and in your own private iCloud storage if you enable sync. The developer cannot see it — there is no server and no account. This also means the developer cannot recover it for you if it is lost, which is the reason to leave iCloud sync on. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete everything?
Deleting the app removes the local database. The iCloud copy is removed from Settings on your device, under your Apple Account, in the iCloud storage management screen.
Does Cinder help me quit?
Cinder is made for people who want to smoke less or stop, and what it offers is an honest record: it keeps what you tell it and shows you the shape of your own habit. It is not a medical device, it gives no medical advice, and no app can promise an outcome — for clinical support, talk to a healthcare professional. See the Terms of Use.
What languages does Cinder support?
English, 简体中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Deutsch, Français, and Português (Brasil). The app follows your device language by default, and you can override it in Settings.
